This November, 100 collectors proudly offered a tailored program at Paris Photo, the world’s premier art fair dedicated to photography, held annually at the Grand Palais in Paris. Paris Photo’s 2023 edition featured an exciting Digital Sector, curated by Nina Roehrs, showcasing groundbreaking work by artists integrating digital technologies into their practice. As part of our collaboration with Paris Photo, 100 collectors provided exclusive VIP experiences designed to connect our members to the latest developments in photography and digital art.
Our private events began with guided tours of the Digital Sector, led by Fanny Lakoubay, one of 100 collectors’ initiators. These intimate tours, held on November 6th and 7th, offered members a closer look at the cutting-edge galleries and platforms featured in this forward-thinking sector.
For our members unable to attend in person, Fanny hosted an online guided tour. This included interviews with artists such as Ana Maria Caballero, Erika Weitz and Christiane Peschek, Thibaut Brunet; gallerists such as Alejando Cartajena (Fellowship), Mimi Nguyen (Nguyen Wahed), Kika Nicolela (Objkt.one) and Johanna Neuschäffer (Office Impart) as well as curator Nina Roehrs. Interviews were instantly shared with our global Telegram group. The entire 100 Collectors team was actively engaged online, responding to questions and facilitating inquiries about works of interest.
On November 7th, Eleonora Brizi, another initiator of 100 collectors, organized and introduced the Private Collector Tour of the "From Code to Imagery" exhibition alongside digital art experts Georg Bak. The show featured artists Kevin Abosch, David Young, Ganbrood, and Hein Gavenhorst who were present at the event and talked about their works.
More than 40 attendees joined this incredible event, which included a cocktail reception and an engaging talk between artists and curators on photography and AI. The discussion highlighted how artificial intelligence is shaping a new era for the photographic medium, described by many as a “renaissance of photography.” This revival stems from AI’s ability to push the boundaries of creative expression, enabling artists to merge generative algorithms with human intuition to produce works that are both innovative and conceptually rich.
The following day, November 8th, our program concluded with a playful and educational experience at Artverse: an exclusive preview of YuYu’s latest show, “A Thousand Layers and One Thousand More”. Guests engaged with custom-designed board games inspired by YuYu’s art and web3 themes, creating a unique blend of learning, community-building, and entertainment. Co-founded by Sebastien Borget and Arthur Madrid of The Sandbox, and directed by Grida, a pioneering figure in digital and crypto art, ArtVerse serves as a bridge between the digital and physical worlds.
Throughout Paris Photo Week, members also enjoyed VIP access, including tickets to the Vernissage, early daily entry, and complimentary access to cultural sites across Paris. This year’s program demonstrated 100 collectors’ commitment to fostering deep connections between our members and the evolving worlds of photography and digital art. The result was an unforgettable celebration of creativity, innovation, and the power of community.
