The most important art fair in Portugal, Arco Lisboa held its sixth edition between May 25-28 at the charming building of Cordoaria Nacional, located right in front of Tejo River. We welcomed our 100 Collectors’ members for the opening day dedicated to professionals and offered a guided tour to talk about the best artists, artworks, booths and projects amongst the 86 galleries from 23 different countries.

Guided by journalist Julia Flamingo, the tour started with insights about how an art fair works, the importance of Arco Lisboa and Arco Madrid (which since 1982 has been one of the main art fairs of the world), and an overview of different sectors of the fair.

We went through the most important galleries of the general sector and discussed the works by amazing artists such as Helena de Almeida, Rui Chafes, Olafur Eliasson, Juan Asensio, and Lucia Koch.

We also talked about the curatorial sector led by Paula Nascimento “Africa in Focus”, as well as the Solo Project, which showcased excellent solo shows of Túlio Pinto and Mané Pacheco.

Portuguese artist Paulo Arraiano welcomed us at Umalulik gallery, where he kindly presented us his work. The visit ended at Foco Gallery, where artists Gabriel Ribeiro and Francisco Trepa generously shared insights on their work featured as part of Arco Lisboa with our club members.
